No, a DNA test will look at single base pair mutations that may eventually impact proteins and small molecules impacting health. We look at these small molecules directly to categorize risk to various conditions and make research backed recommendations to improve your pet’s daily life.

Everfur is the first of its kind to offer a large-scale molecular test that covers over 200 unique molecules. We then build on this data using state of the art artificial intelligence to make recommendations that can impact your pet’s health and happiness. Most other fur tests look at a few minerals and elements and report the values.

Standard blood panels are great, and we recommend pet’s get them regularly. While we cover many of the same molecules in a blood panel, hair is a different sample type than blood and can tell a different story. In fact hair is more similar to an average of the daily blood values which can fluctuate throughout the day. We also run our own proprietary statistical models to determine risk scores and showcase products specifically tailored to your pet’s report to improve their wellbeing

The molecular panel is the same for cat’s and dog’s although coverage of these small molecules is different for each species. We do need to know which species is being tested as the value range for dogs and cats is quite different. An acceptable range for an amino acid for dogs may be quite high for cats and vice versa.

We recommend using Everfur at least once a year so you have a continuous, accurate read on their well-being.
