California Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 20, 2026
This California Privacy Notice supplements the Everfur Privacy Policy and applies only to California residents. It is provided by Strand Health Inc., doing business as Everfur ("Everfur," "we," "us"). It describes how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information through the Everfur mobile app, our websites, and any related products, programs, and services (the "Services"). It also describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (the "CCPA"). Terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning here. This notice does not apply to our employees, contractors, or job applicants. It also does not apply to information that is deidentified, aggregated, or publicly available, which the CCPA does not treat as personal information.
Information about your pet, such as breed, weight, medications, and veterinary records, is covered by this notice when it is linked to you or your account.
1. Personal information we collect
We collect, and in the past 12 months may have collected, the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers. Name, email address, phone number, postal, shipping, and billing address, account ID and username, social media handles, IP address, device and advertising identifiers, cookies and similar identifiers, and push notification tokens.
- Customer records. Contact, billing, and payment details. Payment card data is processed by our payment processors, and we do not store full payment card numbers.
- Commercial information. Subscriptions, memberships, orders, purchase and browsing history, rewards and promotional activity, and veterinary consultation, prescription, and pharmacy requests.

- Communications and content. The content of your chats with the Services, messages, survey responses, reviews, support requests, call recordings and transcripts, and anything else you choose to submit, including information about yourself or other people.
- Photos, video, and audio. Images, videos, and audio or voice recordings you submit or that are captured through the Services with your permission, including associated metadata such as date, time, and location.
- Internet and device activity. App and website usage, feature interactions, analytics events, referring pages, email and push notification engagement, and browser, device, and operating system information.
- Geolocation. Approximate location derived from your IP address, and precise location if you enable location permissions.

- Professional information. For veterinarians, creators, and business partner contacts: employer, role, and license or credential details.
- Inferences. Preferences, characteristics, and predictions derived from the information above, such as products, services, or care reminders likely to be relevant to you and your pet.
- Sensitive personal information. Account login credentials, precise geolocation if you enable it, and any sensitive information you choose to include in content you submit. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes the CCPA regulations permit without a right to limit, and not to infer characteristics about you.

3. How we use it
We may use each category of personal information for each of the following purposes:

- Facilitate the veterinary consultations, prescriptions, pharmacy orders, deliveries, and partner offerings you request.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions, memberships, rewards, and promotions.
- Communicate with you, including service, transactional, and marketing messages by email, push notification, text, and phone where permitted.
- Conduct research, analytics, and product development. This includes developing, training, fine tuning, evaluating, and improving AI and machine learning models and other technology, using content such as photos, video, audio, records, and chats.

We will not collect additional categories of personal information, or use personal information for materially different purposes, without providing notice as required by law.
4. Who we disclose it to
In the past 12 months we may have disclosed each category above to the following categories of recipients for business purposes:
- Service providers and contractors, including cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing, ecommerce, email and messaging delivery, customer support, AI model and infrastructure, marketing and advertising services, security, and professional services providers.
- Our affiliates and subsidiaries.
- Licensed veterinarians, veterinary clinics, pharmacies, laboratories, insurers, and fulfillment and shipping partners, to complete what you request.
- Business and marketing partners with whom we offer products, services, promotions, or integrations, including when you access the Services through a partner.
- Research and academic collaborators.
- Members of your pet's care team and others at your direction or with your consent.
- Advertising and social media partners.
- Actual or prospective acquirers, investors, lenders, and their advisors, in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
- Professional advisors, auditors, and insurers.
- Government authorities and other parties where required by law or needed to protect rights, property, and safety.
5. Sale and sharing of personal information
We may disclose personal information in ways the CCPA defines as a "sale" or as "sharing" for cross context behavioral advertising. We may sell or share, and in the past 12 months may have sold or shared, the following:
- Categories: identifiers, commercial information, internet and device activity, approximate geolocation, and inferences.
- Recipients: advertising and social media partners, analytics providers, and business and marketing partners.
- Purposes: advertising and marketing, analytics, and joint offerings.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers. We have no actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
To opt out, select "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in our website footer, enable the Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email hello@everfur.com. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt out request for that browser and, where we can associate the signal with your account, for your account. After you opt out, we may still disclose personal information to service providers and at your direction, and you may still see advertising that is not based on your personal information.
6. Rewards and financial incentives
We may offer rewards, credits, discounts, promotional codes, referral benefits, or free or discounted memberships that involve the collection, retention, sale, or sharing of personal information. This may include your contact information, pet and care information, and activity. Participation is voluntary and requires you to opt in. The terms of each program are presented when you sign up, and you may withdraw at any time by emailing hello@everfur.com or as described in the program terms. We offer these programs because we estimate in good faith that the value of the personal information to our business is reasonably related to the value of the benefit offered. That estimate is based on the expenses we incur in offering the program and the revenue we expect it to generate.
7. How long we keep it
We retain each category of personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice. We decide how long to keep it based on the following:
- whether you maintain an account;
- whether we need the information to provide the Services or to develop and improve them;
- legal, tax, accounting, veterinary, and pharmacy recordkeeping requirements;
- the need to resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud, and preserve backups.
When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or deidentify it. We may retain deidentified and aggregated information indefinitely, and we maintain and use deidentified information without attempting to reidentify it except as the law permits.
8. Your California rights
Subject to verification and the exceptions in the CCPA, you have the following rights:
- Know and access. You can request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the recipients. You will receive it in a portable format.
- Delete. You can request deletion of personal information we collected from you.
- Correct. You can request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. See Section 5.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes that do not give rise to this right, so there is nothing to limit.
- No retaliation. We will not deny you Services, charge you a different price, or give you a different level of quality because you exercised these rights, except as the CCPA permits for financial incentive programs.
We may decline or limit a request where the law permits. This includes where we need the information to complete transactions, provide the Services, detect security incidents, debug, comply with legal obligations, or for internal uses reasonably aligned with your expectations.
9. How to submit a request
Email hello@everfur.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." Tell us which right you are exercising and the email address on your account. You can also delete your account at any time in the app settings.
- Verification. We verify requests by matching the information you provide to the information on your account, and we may ask for more information. Requests for specific pieces of personal information require a higher degree of verification. We may deny a request we cannot verify.
- Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent who has your signed permission. We may ask you to verify your identity with us directly and to confirm the agent's authority.
- Timing. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we may extend once by another 45 days and will tell you why.
- Fees and limits. We do not charge a fee unless a request is excessive or manifestly unfounded. We are not required to respond to more than two requests to know in any 12 months.
10. When we act on behalf of a partner
Some businesses offer Everfur features to their own customers, sometimes under their own brand. In those cases we process personal information as a service provider on the partner's behalf, and the partner's privacy notice governs. Please direct your request to that partner, and we will assist them in responding.
11. Children
The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 without the authorization the CCPA requires.
12. Other California disclosures
- Shine the Light. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents request information about, or opt out of, our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To opt out at no cost, email hello@everfur.com with the subject line "Shine the Light Request."
- Do Not Track. Our websites do not respond to legacy Do Not Track browser signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control as described in Section 5.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this notice at any time. The updated version is effective when posted. Questions or requests: hello@everfur.com, or Strand Health Inc. (Everfur), Attn: Privacy, 1002 Dean Street, Suite 101, Brooklyn, NY 11238.
