Service Availability & Provider Licensing
Where Everfur Veterinary Care Is Available, and Who Provides It
Last updated: September 8, 2026. This page is updated whenever availability or providers change.
Two kinds of service
Veterinary telehealth is regulated by the state in which your pet is physically located at the time of a Visit. Depending on that state, Everfur Members receive one of two services. The app tells you which applies before you book, and your Veterinary Provider confirms your pet's location at the start of every Visit.
| Service | What you get | Who provides it | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Telehealth with prescriptions | Live video examination by a licensed veterinarian, a veterinarian client patient relationship where state law allows it by telehealth, diagnosis and treatment plan, prescriptions when clinically appropriate (no controlled substances), follow up messaging | A veterinarian licensed in your pet's state | States marked "Available" in the first column below |
| Veterinary consultation (no prescriptions) | Live video consultation and teletriage with a licensed veterinarian: whether and how urgently your pet should be seen in person, general recommendations. No diagnosis, treatment, or prescription. | A licensed veterinarian | States marked "Available" in the second column below |
Prescription authorization from your own veterinarian (we ask your existing veterinarian to authorize a medication, and our pharmacy partner fills it) is available in every state; see the Prescription & Pharmacy Policy.

"Requires prior in person examination" means state law does not allow a veterinarian client patient relationship to be formed by telehealth; a veterinarian who has examined your pet in person may authorize prescriptions, and Everfur Veterinary Providers can provide consultation only. "Not available" means we do not currently have a Veterinary Provider licensed in that state or state law does not permit the service. We do not offer services outside the United States.
Our Veterinary Providers
Veterinary care through Everfur is provided by independently licensed veterinarians, not by Everfur (Strand Health Inc.). Everfur provides the technology, scheduling, records, and administrative services those professionals use. Every prescription is issued by a veterinarian licensed in the state where your pet is located.
| Provider | Role | Licensed in | License number(s) | Verify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ellen Russell, DVM | Medical Director; prescribing veterinarian | California | 28691 | search.dca.ca.gov |
To verify a veterinarian's license yourself, use the licensing board of the state: for California, the Veterinary Medical Board license search at search.dca.ca.gov; for New York, the Office of the Professions verification search at op.nysed.gov. Links for other states are shown next to each provider above as they are added.
Our pharmacy partner
Prescriptions filled through Everfur are dispensed by Mixlab, Inc., a licensed, PCAB accredited, LegitScript certified veterinary pharmacy that fills Everfur prescriptions in the states where Everfur's prescribing service is available. Everfur prescriptions are dispensed from Mixlab's California pharmacy: Mixlab, Inc., 2223 Federal Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90064, California Board of Pharmacy license PHY 57630 (verify at search.dca.ca.gov). You may fill any Everfur prescription at any pharmacy of your choice. See the Prescription & Pharmacy Policy at everfur.com/pharmacy-policy.
